Facilites
Digital planetarium, along with sky observation facility helps the visitors to learn wonders of the universe. The centre also operates a Mobile science exhibition bus since 1990, which travels in the interiors places of Hyderabad,Karnataka.
Auditorium
It is an air conditioned big hall with 133 seating capacity and a simple stage facility. The auditorium is equipped with a Computer, an LCD Projector, Public Address System and Remote Control Lighting System facilities. It is used for all scientific/educational activities of the Centre. The Auditorium is available for holding conferences, workshops, exhibitions ... etc. related to education and scientific programmes such as conference, seminar, workshop, and symposium.
Digital Planetarium
It is a modern facility added to attract the mass. It is entirely different from conventional Opto- mechanical planetariums. It is a dome shaped structure with air condition & well cushioned seats. Public and students can enjoy the show of heavenly bodies and changing night sky. It is supported by 7.1 digital audio effects. 52 visitors can sit and watch the show at a time.
Innovation Space
The Innovation Space at Dist. Science Centre, Kalaburagi is one among the chain of the facility set up by NCSM to involve the young minds in creative hobbies and activities on S&T, promote their critical thinking and problem solving skills, support innovative ideas and lead them to materialize. This facility was inaugurated on 29th June 2017, and is spread over 1800 sq. ft. area. The innovation Space has sections like Make from Scrap, Tod Phod Jod, and specific area for carrying out experiments on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Robotics and Biosciences. The individual annual membership is available on a nominal charge. Schools / Colleges can pre book a visit to the Innovation Space to have an experience about the facility and then go for a membership. Students of Diploma and Engineering can become members and utilize the facility for developing their projects.
